Socially Responsible Investing (SRI)

SRI sometimes referred to as sustainable or ethical investing, is the practice of making investment decisions based not solely on financial factors but with a social consciousness of ethical, environmental and social issues.  Many investors are concerned with what investments their money is funding and choose not to align themselves with anything dealing with alcohol, tobacco, gambling, the military, pornography, abortion and weapons.

Socially responsible investors choose investments that will grow while working for the benefit of society, promoting such things as human rights, protection of the environment, diversity and consumer protection.
